Welcome
For approximately 20 years I dedicated my life as a Human Rehabilitation Practitioner, Fitness Trainer, and Remedial Massage Therapist. Working with the public and professional athletes (youngest client was 9 whilst my eldest was 83 years young), plus many sports teams from grass routes rugby to the Welsh Rugby Union Women’s National Squad and the Men’s Under 21’s, along with The Cardiff Devils and some work with Cardiff City Football Club. I specialised in knee rehabilitation and received referrals from knee surgeon Mr Chris Wilson. I took a few years out when I decided on transferring these skills to animals mainly dogs. I undertook various training and educational courses to reach the point where I am now able to help and support our four-legged friends.
How I Can Help
When you first make contact, I will ascertain the best treatment for your dog. I do this by talking you through a full and thorough health, medical, and lifestyle consultation. I will then assess your dog using a variety of techniques which include, watching their gait, posture and how they transfer from sit to down and down to stand, plus how they walk in a circle left to right and possibly how they use their body whilst manoeuvring over objects and different surface textures. Once I have assessed this, I then move to hands on, and feel for any musculoskeletal asymmetries (plus sore or tender areas or any other unusual lumps, cuts, changes in coat patterns etc). During my hands-on assessment, I check for any potential neuromuscular concerns. When this is complete I will write up a full report. If I find anything untoward, I will liaise with your vet to obtain the best treatment for your dog, and/or approval to go ahead with specific massage and exercise therapy. If your dog is deemed well, I then offer wellbeing, maintenance therapeutic massage and appropriate exercises. All this costs just £55 for assessment (which takes about 1 – 2 hours) and follow ups £45 including massage and exercise (duration up to 1 hour). I do not work from a clinic, so this is conducted in the comfort of your dog’s environment (their home).
What Now?
Whether you have a puppy that you want the best start for, a senior dog that’s slowing down, a dog that has had a change in behaviour (barking more, restless, not wanting to be fussed, reacting to sounds, refusing to walk or go places that they used to enjoy etc), a dog that is recovering from injury or an operation, or just a general health, gait, and posture check – I can help.
