Canine Massage Supports?

Puppies

Canine massage offers a multitude of benefits for puppies, including stress and anxiety reduction, which is particularly valuable during their adjustment to new surroundings or training periods. It promotes improved circulation, ensuring a better flow of oxygen and nutrients vital for their growth. Additionally, it aids in enhancing muscle tone and mobility, crucial as they develop motor skills, and also increases their range of movement. Massage sessions serve as excellent bonding time, strengthening the relationship between the puppy and owner, fostering trust and understanding. It enables the early detection of health issues by helping owners become attuned to their puppy’s normal physical state, allowing for quicker recognition of any abnormalities. Lastly it helps with vet visits and trips to the groomers - gets the puppy used to be handled.

Rescues

Canine massage is a therapeutic practice that offers numerous advantages for rescue dogs. It serves as a powerful tool for reducing stress and anxiety, particularly for those with past traumas or adapting to new homes. It also plays a crucial role in building trust, creating a comforting and safe interaction for dogs who may have experienced neglect. The stimulation of blood flow through massage not only improves circulation but also aids in pain relief by triggering endorphin release, which is especially beneficial for dogs with injuries or chronic pain. It also aids calmness and sleep, especially useful for new environments. Furthermore, it allows for the early detection of health issues, as regular sessions help owners become more attuned to their dog’s normal physical condition, enabling them to spot any unusual changes promptly.

Senior Dogs

Canine massage is particularly advantageous for senior dogs, enhancing flexibility and function by improving blood and lymph circulation, which in turn facilitates the delivery of nutrients and removal of toxins. It induces a state of relaxation through endorphin release, offering comfort to aging dogs who may experience increased anxiety. The process also provides pain relief, beneficial after a day of activity or for conditions like arthritis, by easing muscle tension and joint stiffness. Furthermore, massage supports arthritis management and boosts overall circulation and lymphatic flow, promoting systemic health and aiding in recovery from injuries or surgeries. Regular sessions not only contribute to a dog’s well-being but also assist owners in the early detection of health issues by familiarising them with their dog’s normal physical state.

Agility/Working Dogs

Canine massage is highly beneficial for agility and working dogs, enhancing their performance and well-being. It improves mobility and flexibility, allowing for more fluid movement and reduced risk of injury during demanding activities. Massage aids in rehabilitation from injuries and can decrease recovery times, ensuring that dogs return to their duties or competitions swiftly. By addressing specific muscular dysfunctions and postural or gait irregularities, canine massage helps to optimise performance, increasing speed, accuracy, and overall work efficiency. Moreover, it serves as a preventive measure by detecting minor injuries early, thus preventing them from becoming more serious issues. Regular massage sessions even by their owners ensure that these dogs maintain their peak condition, supporting their intense physical demands.

Stiff Posture - Archie. “Kirstey reassured us about Archie’s stiff back and legs and how it contributed to his anxiety. We now use the massage techniques and stretches, and he is visibly more relaxed and happy. Kirstey took a lot of time to understand Archie’s issues, explains everything fully and us personable. We would highly recommend her”. Chris.
